The Make package contains a program for controlling the generation of executables and other non-source files of a package from source files.

8.65.1. Installation of Make

First, fix some issues identified upstream:

sed -e '/ifdef SIGPIPE/,+2 d' \
    -e '/undef  FATAL_SIG/i FATAL_SIG (SIGPIPE);' \
    -i src/main.c

Prepare Make for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/usr

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue:

make check

Install the package:

make install

Installed program: make

make

Automatically determines which pieces of a package need to be (re)compiled and then issues the relevant commands
